Pizza Place Employee Defends Himself From Mask Wearing Attacker

A lot of businesses have policies against their employees being armed. Yes, I know there are a lot of reasons for these policies, but the reality is that they don’t do much except disarm those employees and prevent them from defending themselves.

As a result, a lot of employees ignore those laws. They figure their life is more important than their job, an argument I wouldn’t be able to disagree with even if I were so inclined, which I’m not.

I’m not sure whether the Little Caesars in Holly Hill, Florida has such a policy, but at least one employee was glad he was armed.

The Little Caesars employee was closing up shop when a man in a bloody demon mask approached and attacked him. The masked man repeatedly hit the employee with a large piece of wood, knocked him to ground, and attempted to stab him. During the assault, the employee managed to draw his legally concealed firearm shoot the masked man.

The employee then called police and requested medical assistance for himself and his attacker.

“Please help me,” the employee told a 911 dispatcher. “He tried to stab me with a pair of scissors. He hit me in the face with a big piece of wood. I’m bleeding all over the place.”

Police arrived a few minutes later and rushed the masked man to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Holly Hill police Chief Steve Aldrich praised the employee for being able to effectively defend himself.

“As soon as he exited the building, he was immediately attacked by an individual that was wearing a scary clown mask and brandishing a wooden stick,” Aldrich told WFTV. “Even though he’s being attacked he’s able to pull out a concealed firearm he has and fires multiple rounds at the suspect. I’m glad that he was able to defend himself and that he’s OK. It’s just unfortunate that this whole episode occurred.”

There are no charges pending against the employee, thankfully, and the bad guy is dead as a doornail.

However, it appears they still don’t know who the attacker is or what exactly his motivation for the attack was. There’s no indication that robbery was the motive, nor does it appear to have been someone the victim knew. It’s just kind of a bizarre, brutal attack that was cut short by a citizen carrying a firearm.

Funny how that shakes out, isn’t it?

There has been no mention of the employee being fired over carrying a gun, so that’s a bit of good news. I get angry when businesses fire people who defend their own lives in spite of a store policy that would have gotten them killed. Again, I understand the reasons many of those businesses have those policies, but that doesn’t make them any less stupid.

Cases like this illustrate just why they’re dumb. Here is a man who would have been murdered in a brutal attack had he been disarmed by store policy. Instead, he’s alive and recovering from the attack while his attacker…well, not so much.

Folks, it can’t be said any clearer: guns save lives.

Liege killings terrorist murders – Belgian magistrate

The Liege attacks which left three people dead are being considered “terrorist murders”, and the investigation now centres on whether the attacker acted alone, a Belgian federal magistrate said. The attacker, identified as Benjamin Herman, shouted “Allahu akbar,” the Arabic phrase for “God is great”, several times during spree before he was shot down by a group of police officers, magistrate Wenke Roggen said.

Belgian Terrorist Kills Two Police Officers, Teacher With Officers’ Guns

Europe is known for having much tighter gun control laws than the United States. This is an established fact. It’s also one that the media loves to hold up to try and paint us as backward hicks clinging to our guns and whatever else they want to blast this week.

However, as we’ve pointed out, laws will not stop bad people from doing bad things. A recent example comes to us from Belgium where a terrorist released from prison just hours earlier where he was radicalized, murdered two police officers with their own guns.

This is the moment Belgian special forces took down a gunman who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ as he shot and killed two policewomen and a 22-year-old trainee teacher.

After carrying out three brutal murders this morning, the attacker took a female cleaner hostage in a nearby high school.

The footage shows him running out of the school with two guns blazing before he was shot dead in the street. Several officers were injured in the gun battle.

The man, who is understood to have been on a day release from a nearby prison, had approached the female officers at around 10.30am, slashed their throats and stabbed them several times from behind, before disarming them.

He has been named as 36-year-old Benjamin Herman. His victims have been named as police officers Lucile Garcia, 45, and Soraya Belkacemi, 53, and 22-year-old Cyril Vangriecken, who was shot dead sitting in a parked car with his mother.

Tonight Liège police paid tribute to their two fallen colleagues on Facebook, calling them ‘wonderful’ mothers and officers.

A lawmaker revealed Belgian national Herman was on an anti-terror police watchlist after being radicalised in jail. He appeared indirectly in security reports on radicalised people and was a multiple repeat offender incarcerated since 2003 who was on day release when he attacked.

And, of course, no one could have helped these officers because the entire population is effectively disarmed.

However, let’s think for a moment. The killer murdered the two officers and got their guns, but what if he’d just disappeared only to pop up in some crowd where he could have reeked havoc. People are lucky this only claimed three lives, truth be told.

Yet through that, we see once again the reality that bad people will do everything they can to get their hands on guns so they can do bad things. This terrorist sure as hell did, and you’re an idiot if you don’t think someone else is watching this and thinking, “That’s how I’ll get a gun.”

Gun laws will never stop this kind of person. Laws mean nothing to these people, so going around them to get a gun means nothing to them. They’ll kill to get guns, after all. If they’ll do that, what else will they do?

Instead, all that happens is that regular folks who might be willing to step in and try and stop such an attack are disarmed. They’re prevented from acting to help their fellow man or woman because the law wants to treat them like criminals.

It’s a shame. It really is.

Kentucky Man Shoots Nephew During Home Invasion

As the gun debate continues to try and heat up, it’s important that we remember that the use of guns saves far more lives than they supposedly cost, and you can’t use the numbers of people killed in self-defense shootings, either. Why? Because many times, the person shot doesn’t get killed.

Kind of like this incident in Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police tells EKB News that Adam Henrickson was shot by his uncle, Robbie Fugate, at Fugate’s residence in the Blackey community of Letcher County.

KSP spokesperson Master Trooper Jody Sims said the two had been having problems for a couple of days and Henrickson was allegedly trying to get inside of Fugate’s residence to confront him. Sims said Fugate shot through the door, striking his nephew in the leg.

Now, let’s be clear here, this clearly looks to be a case of self-defense. No none tried to break into someone’s home to “confront” them if they want a discussion over a cup of coffee. That’s just not going to happen.

No, Fugate was right to believe his life was in danger and to use lethal force to end the potential threat. It’s stupid to wait until an attacker actually commits violence before acting. By then it’s too late. Fugate didn’t, and that’s certainly understandable.

I’m bothered by all these stories of people being forced to shoot family in self-defense lately, though. Family is supposed to be the group of people you can count on, the people who have your back come hell or high water. They’re supposed to be the last people who would turn on you and threaten your very existence.

But that’s the world we live in. The family has become so eroded as an institution that people like this just don’t think of their families as being off-limits for whatever reason.

It’s a shame.

Unfortunately, it’s the state of things. Because of that, we have to be prepared for threats. After all, if family will turn on family, what chance do you have with an armed criminal who has no ties to you except that you were in the wrong place and the wrong time? You need to train and be ready for a variety of threats.

Maybe then, if you find yourself in a bad position, you will have the will and skill to use your firearm in self-defense.

Anti-gunner will continue to try and strip us of our natural right to keep and bear arms, but that’s just one aspect of the fight. The other aspect is to have the tools necessary to turn the table on an attacker and keep you and yours safe for another day.

As this case illustrates, though, you don’t necessarily need to kill an attacker to end an attack. That’s good, especially in this case, because I don’t know that I’d be able to deal well with shooting my nephew, someone I’ve known his whole life, regardless of the situation. At least Mr. Fugate doesn’t have to worry about that but has still managed to keep himself safe and sound.

Another School Shooting Thwarted By Good Guy With A Gun

A lot of people don’t like the idea of school resource officers. They argue that a police officer right there inside the school sends the wrong message. They feel that it also helps feed the school to prison pipeline for whatever reason. For these folks, schools just aren’t a good place for police officers.

But no one seems to mind them when a school resource officer puts an abrupt end to a potential mass shooting.

School resource officer Mark Dallas of the Dixon, Ill., police department shot an ex-student at Dixon High School Wednesday morning preventing potential loss of life at the school after the ex-student opened fire on him.

The ordeal took place at about 8 a.m. local time when the suspect approached Officer Dallas and opened fire, according to local officials. Dallas then returned fire and hit the suspect. The suspect was then apprehended. He is receiving medical treatment for a non-life-threatening wound.

“The Dixon High School and all Dixon Public Schools are on lockdown,” Dixon city government said in a statement posted on their Facebook page. “Dixon Police believe the suspect acted alone and that there is no further threat to the safety of students or staff. Multiple police agencies are on scene. Further information will be released as it becomes available.”

Parents rushed to the scene to pick up their kids after learning of the attack. They were relieved by the news that none of their children were injured.

“My heart right now is racing a million miles a minute,” James Johnson, the father of two kids attending Dixon High School, told WQAD. “It’s very, very frightening.”

Johnson said he was grateful Officer Dallas was able to take quick action and protect his children.

Honestly, what parent wouldn’t feel that way?

The action of Officer Dallas, along with the actions of the officer at the Great Mills High School shooting, illustrate just how effective a good guy with a gun can be in preventing something like Parkland. The fact that the school resource officer was apparently a complete and total coward is the only thing that allowed that shooting to go on as long as it did.

I get the objections to school resource officers. To some extent, I’m sympathetic. However, I also understand that an absence of police officers has never improved people’s behavior as a general rule. I also understand that if you’re not going to let teachers carry firearms, you need someone who is armed and can respond to a vicious attack like this.

That means a police officer of some sort.

Like it or not, anti-gunners, the only want to stop school shootings–or any kind of shooting, for that matter–you need good guys with guns. That’s the only way to stop a shooter. A determined attacker won’t be talked down, they damn sure won’t be hugged down, and they won’t stop until they’re confronted or they’re finished. Period.

If they’re confronted early, like this case, no one dies. That won’t always happen, unfortunately, because one officer can’t be everywhere. In this case, it did thankfully.

Just imagine how few people would die if there were more good guys with guns?

French interior minister brands Kadyrov “dicatotor” after Chechen leader points out Paris knife attacker was radicalized in France

France’s interior minister has branded the Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, a “dictator” after he said Saturday’s Paris attacker was raised and radicalized in France. Kadyrov spoke up after a flurry of media headlines revealing the Chechen origins of Khamzat Azimov, who killed one and injured four people. He said that while the 21-year-old man was born in Chechnya, he had spent almost his entire life in France. “He may have been born in Chechnya, but he grew up in French society, where his personality, his opinions and convictions were formed,” Kadyrov wrote on Telegram. But French Interior Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian responded by attacking Kadyrov.

Off-Duty Officer Shoots Gun-Toting Attacker

When a bad guy has a gun and intends to shoot someone, the only thing that will ever stop this is a good guy with a gun. This should be an accepted, universal truth.

But, it’s not. There are those out there who absolutely refuse to accept this reality. They reject it like Michael Moore rejects hygiene (allegedly) or Amy Schumer rejects chastity (which is completely true based on her comedy).

Here’s yet another example, this time from Georgia.

Police say an off-duty officer has fatally shot a man in suburban Atlanta.

Clayton County Police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury told news outlets the officer saw someone firing shots toward another person near a restaurant Sunday afternoon. The officer was working an approved security job at a nearby church.

Police say the initial shooting erupted after a man made an inappropriate comment toward a woman with two other men in the restaurant. An argument ensued outside as the suspect followed them before firing shots, police say.

It was at this point that the off-duty officer went to confront the suspect, who then fired at him. The officer then returned the favor and wounded them assailant who then died en route to the hospital.

“But he was a police officer. That doesn’t count as a good guy with a gun,” some whiney anti-gun crusader will screech.

Unfortunately for Dippy the Wonder Spud, the police are good guys with guns. I know that’s hard for some people to accept, especially when they’re knee deep in pretending that the police are the enemy of all that is good and decent in the world. They’re not. Police officers are just people, regular folks who have a job to do. Sometimes, though, they encounter some horrible stuff and have to act while the rest of us have a choice in the matter.

Well, some people do. Some of us don’t. Not really.

Anyway, the point is that it doesn’t matter what the armed individual does for a living. What matters is that good guys with guns are the only thing that stops bad people with evil in their hearts. Some are police officers while some are private citizens who are exercising their right to bear arms in accordance with local law.

In the end, it doesn’t matter.

What matters is that a good guy with a gun was there and stopped the bad guy. That’s why we need more good guys with guns. We need people who will see situations like this and act, thus putting an end to the violent confrontation and, over time, reducing violence in general.

You know, people like this officer who, under the circumstances, wasn’t nearly as obligated to respond as when he was in uniform. He was being paid to guard a church, not confront an armed attacker, but he did it anyway. He did it and helped make our streets a little safer.

Like I said, the only thing that will stop an attack like that is a good guy with a gun. Nothing else will do. Luckily, there was one handy so the only person who is now a statistic is the thug in question.
