Keith Urban Just Made A Startling Confession About His Marriage With Nicole Kidman

Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman are perhaps one of the sexiest couples on the planet. And while a lot of celebrity couples have the good looks and the paparazzi potential like Nicole and Keith do, this Australian duo has something few celebrity couples share. They’re head-over-heels in love with each other. But recently, it has become clear that country singer Keith Urban found something else when he found Nicole.

He was in the throes of alcohol addiction until she helped pull him out of the depths of despair. If it weren’t for her, he would not be the success he is today.

Last year, Urban was stunned to received two American Music Awards. And since he had the opportunity to give his acceptance speech, it was no surprise that he thanked his wife Nicole while up on the stage. But he didn’t reveal all the things he was thankful for when it came to his wife. This past week he admitted it was Nicole, and nothing else, that saved him from his addiction to alcohol.

Urban and Kidman first met at an event that was honoring Australian entertainers. Kidman said she “literally stumbled into” Urban and they felt the undeniable connection.

Urban’s appearance gave Kidman a perfect chance to start again after her failed marriage with Tom Cruise. And just like that, Kidman and Urban began their whirlwind romance.

Not even a year after they met, the pair got engaged. And they started their life together.

“Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning,” the singer said about their wedding. “It was literally, like, ‘OK, life starts.’”

But months after their wedding, Urban’s demons started to destroy their perfect relationship.

Urban was abusing alcohol while taking drugs like ecstasy and cocaine to make himself feel good.

“I’d go to sleep, wake up a couple of hours later, go at it again, drinking to take the edge off,” Urban said. “I knew I wasn’t at my full potential, and that’s what was starting to get to me. I was enslaved … I was living a very, very small life.”

It was Kidman who changed Urban’s life. She held an intervention just four months into their marriage. And since that day, Urban has been drug-free. 12 years sober and he is on top of the world. And he will readily admit it was all Nicole when it comes to his resurrection.

“I was spiritually awoken with her. I use the expression ‘I was born into her,’ and that’s how I feel. And for the first time in my life, I could shake off the shackles of addiction.”

Urban loved Nicole more than drugs and alcohol. As a result, he was able to leave that lifestyle behind and start over with his beautiful wife.

Now Urban and Kidman share two children, Sunday and Faith. Unfortunately, rumors are now circulating that Keith and Nicole are getting a divorce. It will be interesting to see how this affects Keith and if he falls back on his old addictions.

Greitens Running Ads to Defend Himself

Embattled Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens (R) “has purchased at least $185,000 in television ads — set to begin airing this week — in a year when he is not on the ballot,” the Kansas City Star reports.

“Greitens’ campaign purchased the television air time as Missouri lawmakers are holding a special session to weigh whether to impeach the Republican governor.”

“Greitens has been hounded since January by allegations that he photographed a woman while she was bound and partly nude to keep her from speaking about an extramarital affair in 2015.”

Meanwhile, Democrats are running their own ads linking Grietens with U.S. Senate candidate Josh Hawley (R).

When This Deaf Couple Boarded The Plane WIth Their Service Dog, Nobody Expected Him To Freak Out

Seldom is a trip on an airplane free from some type of drama or setback. As passengers, we are usually burdened one way or another before or during the time of our flight. Sometimes we have the unfortunate luck of sitting next to a particularly annoying passenger, and other times we may learn that the plane has a mechanical issue after we’ve been sitting in our seats preparing for takeoff for an hour.

When a really dramatic moment occurs on an airplane, it often gets captured on film by a passenger. The most recent airplane incident occurred when a man caused trouble with a deaf couple and their service dog. At an Orlando airport terminal, a man allegedly punched the pregnant deaf woman in the stomach and then proceeded to punch the service dog in the head.

The part of the incident that was actually filmed was what happened after the alleged man messed with the deaf couple. The pregnant woman’s partner, Matthew Silvay can be seen arguing and angrily signing at the other passenger, Timothy Manley, while the woman urges him to stop and continue on to their seats.

Then the video shows the deaf couple holding up the line when passengers are departing the plane because Silvay is still angry. One of the workers is yelling at Silvay at this point and telling him that the dog is not a person. And as all this is going on Silvay is holding his phone camera in front of the workers and waiting for Manley to get off the plane. The couple can be seen blocking an entryway, causing a lot of disruption amongst the passengers who are trying to board the plane.

And then, when Silvay spots Manley he doesn’t hold back. He takes what appears to be his metal walking cane and hits him right in the head, knocking him down. Meanwhile, the couple’s children can be seen screaming in the background as the incident unfolds.

According to Manley, he pushed the large dog away when it stood up to stretch because his wife has allergies and he didn’t want them to act up on the plane.

“My wife was right next to me and has allergies to dogs, and I had to push it away,” Manley told ABC News, denying that he punched the dog. Evidently, Manley had complained about the dog earlier in the flight but took action when the dog stood up.

According to the report, Manley punched the dog, causing it to yelp. Silvay’s wife, Hazel Ramirez stated that Manley not only punched her in the stomach but he also touched the couple’s children. He evidently knocked them over when he was trying to get away from an angry Silvay.

“They fell and cried so hard,” Ramirez said.

Law enforcement officials were there to greet both parties at the gate but they arrived after the fight broke out.

Ramirez shared that she will testify in court if needed and the FBI is currently investigating what if any charges can be pressed.

Commenters shared their thoughts on the incident…

“Shocking behavior. Worse still it the complete incompetence of the airline and airport. No security or police – in this day and age! Poorly handled, although the woman was doing her best and asked for the police to be called. The deaf man and his partner should be banned from flying as a result of that behavior impacting on other passengers creating a dangerous situation.”

White Men Need to Step Up for Gun Control

Three months after a group of students walked out of Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, to protest gun violence and school shootings, the school became a harrowing statistic itself. Eight students and two teachers were killed on Friday and 10 more injured when a gunman opened fire during the first period of the day.

Friday marks one more lone wolf white male shooter with “troubling” social media posts and a history of isolation in custody, with not a scratch on him courtesy of the police.

{snip}

Although I’ve touched on the roles that white privilege plays in all aspects of the gun control debate, it’s time to explicitly address the very salient statistic that a huge proportion of mass shootings are being carried out by white men with ill-advised access to weapons of mass destruction. Moreover, it is time to address the way that whiteness is a key factor in the gun control debate — white people are typically less likely to be profiled by police and less likely to be shot, and are in fact more likely to be the ones doing the profiling.

According to a database compiled by Mother Jones, of the 49 recorded mass shootings (defined by Mother Jones as three or more killed) since 2010 in the US, 24 were carried out by white men. Of these same 49, only 23 of them had definitive prior signs of mental illness, and yet many of them were painted as mentally unstable and otherwise harmless by major media outlets and legislators who do nothing else to strengthen gun laws or allow better access to mental health care.

It is important to note here that it is not just white men who have privilege when it comes to gun violence, but also white women. Just last week, Kaitlin Bennet, a graduate at Kent State University in Ohio posed for her graduation pictures with an AR-10 rifle, and a cap that said “Come and get it.” On May 4, 1970, Kent State was witness to a mass shooting of its own campus, carried out by the Ohio National Guard against unarmed students protesting the Vietnam War.

{snip} This is privilege — white privilege. While a white woman can walk around a college campus with an assault rifle in plain sight with no tangible consequences, a 12-year-old black child — Tamir Rice — is shot while holding a toy gun in a public park.

What all this comes down to is that, at the end of the day, it is white men who seem to be a common denominator in gun-related violence — particularly in mass shootings. At the same time, it is white men who seem to be doing the absolute least to bring about change that could result in fewer mass shootings and less gun violence overall.

As is the case with most social justice issues, the unfortunate reality is that until people in positions of privilege speak out in support of marginalized communities and instances of oppression, positive steps toward equity will remain frustratingly slow.

{snip}

At the risk of sounding repetitive, I urge you — white people in particular — to contact your legislators and work with your peers on campus to make sure that common sense gun safety is a priority. {snip}

Teen Charged in Death of Baltimore County Officer; Remaining Three Teen Suspects Also in Custody

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged as an adult in the death of a police officer on Monday, and three other suspects—all teenage males—are in custody.

Dawnta Anthony Harris, of the 1600 block of Vincent Court in the Gilmor Homes complex in West Baltimore, was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Officer Amy Caprio, according to court records. He is being held without bail at an adult detention center.

Amy Caprio

{snip}

Caprio was a four-year veteran of the Baltimore County police force assigned to the Parkville precinct.

At his bail review, prosecutors said Harris had stolen four cars since December, and went missing from house arrest for car theft days before he allegedly killed Caprio.

The other three suspects were unlikely to have bail review hearings until Tuesday night, said Officer Jennifer Peach, a spokeswoman for Baltimore County police.

The documents say Caprio was responding to a call at about 2 p.m. Monday on Linwen Way to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the area. A 911 caller reported a black Jeep Wrangler near her home, and said three “suspicious subjects got out of it and were walking around homes.” The caller then said the suspects had broken into the home and the first arriving officer was on the ground after confronting the driver of the Jeep.

{snip} Harris was later interviewed at police headquarters, where he admitted to investigators that he was sitting in the driver seat while the three other suspects committed a burglary.

He told officers he saw Caprio drive up the block and that she got out of her car and demanded that he get out of the Jeep. Instead, he “drove at the officer,” the documents said.

The search for the remaining suspects, whom police considered armed and dangerous, extended into the evening and left nearly 2,000 students stranded in their schools until parents were allowed to pick them up at about 7:30 p.m.

{snip}

Detectives have verified that the group were involved in burglaries in the area, police said. Officers were reporting to the area Tuesday to canvass for property stolen during the burglaries.
