Amerika.org Under DOS Attack By Scared Leftists

You may have found it difficult to access this site since Friday, May 4, 2018 because an angry group of Leftists have been engaging in a denial-of-service attack against this site and its anti-SJW metal brethren. The bad news is that this took us down intermittently for five days, but the good news is that it shows they fear us.

Leftists realize that 2018 is a huge year because we are fifty years past the Great Revolution of 1968. During that time, Leftist policies have been revealed to (1) fail to fix the problems they claimed were inherent in the old order, and (2) produce even worse problems.

This has caused panic on the Left. They know their time is ending.

In response, they have unleashed an orgy of violence, repression, and censorship — much as history predicted they would do, based on the events in France in the 1700s and Russia in the 1900s — and have attacked what they see as the most accurate voices against them. We are proud to be on that list.

Thank you to all who have written, sent help, bought books, donated time, donated money, and most of all, not given up. They did not break you, and they have not broken us.

Now on to the good details. This DOS attack consisted of two prongs: a TCP/IP-based attack against the machine that hosts several of our sites, and an HTTP-based attack against our PHP-based scripts. Our host, Dreamhost, managed to block the former attack, and with some crufty old 1990s know-how, we have lessened the latter.

You can see one Leftist crowing about the attack — which also assaulted Gab.ai and American Renaissance, among others — via the Tweet pictured above.

Unfortunately for this Leftist, we have the IP addresses of his friends who are participating in the second prong of the attack. Links go to ARIN which will tell you which ISP owns this address. For the first prong, we think a rented botnet was used, possibly of Russian origin.

One of these IPs has been linked in the past to one Tulio Baars, who uses the email addresses [email protected] and [email protected], who you can find on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Baars works at Garage and Catarse, where he uses many of the same technologies employed in this attack. We continue investigating. In the meantime, several of the IP addresses used were linked to other email addresses such as [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. They seem to mostly be active at night, suggesting that they run their scripts and then go off to bed.

We will keep you posted with further announcements. In the meantime, thank you for reading and helping us weather this storm.

Facebook’s Own Shareholders Grill Zuckerberg over Conservative Censorship at Annual Meeting

Facebook may be one of the largest and most influential companies in the world, but things haven’t gone the social media giant’s way in recent months. College demands student remove Jesus, Bible references from graduation speech. Then she fights back.

Colorado Mesa University officials demanded that a student get rid of references to Jesus and the Bible in her graduation speech to fellow nursing students — that is, until she got a Christian legal firm involved, the Daily Sentinel reported.

How did this all start?

Karissa Erickson’s classmates chose her to speak at a pinning ceremony — which takes place Friday and is a separate graduation ceremony for the nursing program at the Grand Junction college, the paper said.

But then CMU nursing faculty reviewed Erickson’s speech and took issue with a few of its words, according to a May 4 letter Alliance Defending Freedom sent to the school.

Seems Erickson shared a story about overcoming adversity and then noted, “God always has a purpose.” She followed that up with, “I find comfort in Jesus’ words, and I pass them on to you. John 16:33. ‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take comfort, I have overcome the world.’”

How did the school react to the Jesus and Bible references?

A school official emailed Erickson and told her to take out the part saying “you find comfort in Jesus’ words and cite a [B]ible verse,” ADF’s letter noted, adding that the official also said “speeches should be free of any one religious slant” and that “some people don’t appreciate those references.”

When Erickson inquired further, another school official told her that several years earlier students took offense at Bibles being distributed on campus, the ADF letter explained, adding that “due to the ensuing negative publicity it received, CMU no longer allows Bible verses or remarks about any specific religion because someone might be offended.”

That official added to Erickson that she had to remove the religious references from her speech or “there will be repercussions. This program will not tolerate it,” the ADF letter said.

How did Erickson respond?

Erickson contacted Alliance Defending Freedom, the legal outfit said in a news release — and once CMU received the letter from the law firm protesting the speech censorship, school officials backed down.

“When they were confronted with what the law required, they quickly backtracked and allowed the student to speak freely,” Alliance attorney Travis Barham told the Daily Sentinel. “I am genuinely impressed the university corrected its actions so quickly.”

What is the college saying now?

CMU spokeswoman Dana Nunn told the paper that university faculty were “trying to do the right thing, but made a mistake” in ordering Erickson to remove religious references.

“It was a well-intentioned misunderstanding of what was appropriate,” Nunn added to the Daily Sentinel. “I think it’s fair to say that a lot of people have their own interpretations of the separation of church and state, and the faculty member that initially asked for the change was just trying to do the right thing, she was just not correct legally.”

Nunn told the paper she could not speak to ADF’s claims that Erickson was threatened with “repercussions” but said there is no university ban on talking about religion.

‘This sort of thing pops up with alarming frequency…’

“This sort of thing pops up with alarming frequency, where university officials come under the mistaken conclusion that the First Amendment requires them to purge all speech of anything that’s religious,” Barham added to the Daily Sentinel. “They think they’re fulfilling the commands of the First Amendment, but they’re actually violating it.”

Barham added in the news release that, “America’s Founding Fathers regularly opened public ceremonies with prayer, and federal appeals courts have consistently ruled that universities can do the same at their graduation ceremonies.”

ADF Senior Counsel Tyson Langhofer, director of the firm’s Center for Academic Freedom, concluded: “Today’s university students will be tomorrow’s voters and civic leaders. That’s why it’s so important that public colleges and universities exemplify the First Amendment values they are supposed to be teaching to students. Colorado Mesa University has shown it wants to do that by taking quick corrective action in agreeing to let students speak without unconstitutional censorship.”

Handcuffed man takes painful nosedive off courthouse balcony after he tries to make a break for it

A handcuffed man in a Utah courthouse was seen on security camera footage as he escaped a courtroom only to flip off a balcony and nosedive to the ground below.

WARNING – DISTRESSING CONTENT:

The defendant, Christopher Clay Rudd, appeared hurt and bloody as he lay on the ground after the fall, as seen in video released Thursday, according to an Associated Press report.

Bailiffs chased after Rudd and one seemed to try to break his fall. They then could be seen attending to him on the ground.

Though it wasn’t yet clear if he was trying to injure himself or the fall was accidental, Rudd broke his leg and pelvis and fractured his skull in the fall, state courts spokesman Geoffrey Fattah said, according to the AP.

Originally arrested on drug allegations, the defendant was in the Spanish Fork court for failure to follow through on court-ordered treatment. His attempt to escape could earn him more charges.

Project Veritas busts union president defending ‘teacher who had sex’ with student: It’s about the pension

A new Project Veritas video revealed a New Jersey teacher’s union president admitting a cover up to protect a teacher who allegedly had sex with a student.

The video, released on Wednesday, is part of a series of undercover videos of teachers unions from around the country that will reportedly be released by Project Veritas in the coming weeks. The new release comes in the wake of the suspension of Hamilton Township Education Association President Dr. David Perry who was caught on video  saying he would cover up physical abuse of a student by a teacher.

Union City Education Association President, Kathleen Valencia, appeared in the March 27th 2018 video recorded at the Union City Education Association office, as she explained why there would be no reprimand for a teacher who bruised a student in school.

“Did the kid’s parent come in? No? Nothing happened… There’s no video? Nothing happened… [The teacher] is fine,” she said.

“I’m going to get your brother a lawyer. Your brother’s not going to admit anything happened. The only witness is the scumbag kid… he’s got a record,” Valenica told the undercover Veritas journalist who was posing as the family member of a fictitious teacher.

When asked if other incidents have occurred that have had to be covered to protect the teachers, Valencia pointed to a file on her desk.

“This file right here is from a teacher who had sex with a student,” she said.  “You know what this whole file is about? It’s about whether or not the teacher gets to keep their pension. Sex with a teenage girl. Is he going to jail? No. How come? Because the child’s not pressing charges. They have no proof there was sex.”

Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe called for the Union City Education Association to reveal the identity of the teacher it is protecting instead of protecting children.

The first video in the series involved a man identified as HTEA President David R. Perry telling the undercover Veritas journalist how he would “bend the truth” about an incident involving a teacher hurting a student. The incident was fabricated but Perry said the teacher should come to him and tell him “the truth” adding that he could change the date of any records and play down the incident.

“I need to know the truth, so that we can bend the truth,” he said in the video. “If nobody brings it up from (the) school, I don’t say boo.

“I’m here to defend even the worst people,” he added.

O’Keefe personally confronted Perry about the undercover video.

“I said, what we do is we help people,” Perry said in the second video. “And what they do wrong, they deserve their punishment.”

Perry was suspended as a result of the video, NJ.com reported.

“The true beliefs and values of this school district are not represented in this video and are not aligned with who we are as faculty, staff, administration, and community,” Hamilton Township Superintendent Scott Rocco said in a statement Wednesday.

Michelle Malkin praised O’Keefe and his organization for lifting “the rug so we can se how the cockroaches operate,” during a radio segment on the Sean Hannity Show on Wednesday. O’Keefe noted the problem is “systemic” and more videos would be coming.

“Any and all parents should be paying attention. This union would rather protect their teachers than their students,” he said.
