After Years Of Searching The Jungle They Finally Find The ‘Holy Grail’ Of WWII Relics

They thought he was crazy. But restaurant tycoon David Tallichet knew there was something he was missing in the jungle. As an innovator in the restaurant scene, a man who has injected culture and different tastes in the food he serves, Tallichet has built a legacy that will long outlive him. However, the discovery he made in the jungle had nothing to do with his success as a career restaurateur.

Yet his discovery has both historic significance and is simply interesting. But when he ventured out into the middle of nowhere in the jungle, he ended up raising ghosts from the grave.

Tallichet made his fortune in the food industry when he founded a Polynesian-themed restaurant chain in California. But his success began when he learned discipline as part of the military. He was deployed during World War Ii and was a co-pilot on a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. In the sky, as in the kitchen, Tallichet was a force to be reckoned with.

Even as he carved out his fortune in the restaurant business, he still maintained his passion for plains and aviation. He started to grow an aircraft collection when he made a lot of money. He even specialized in military plane replicas. His plains were hired for movies like “Pearl Harbor.”

Despite his success, Tallichet wanted more. He took a team to Papa New Guinea to trek through the jungle. He was eager to find more out of life. One of the most underdeveloped places in the world, Papa New Guinea has a fearsome jungle that is not kind to visitors. With the jungle thwarting his every move, Tallichet and his team had to force themselves through the landscape and into the swamp.

Despite having years of survival skills among the team, no one was prepared for the surprise in the middle of the jungle.

Tallichet was brought to tears when he saw the thing among the greenery. He was immediately brought back to 1942 when World War II was at its peak. U.S. Army Air Corps Captain Fred Eaton and Henry Maynard Harlow were hired for a secret and heroic mission. They were to fly from Australia up against the Japanese coast. When things took a bad turn at the Japanese Fortress at Rabaul in New Britain, they were left with few options.

The plane started to fall from the sky and landed in the middle of the Papa New Guinea jungle. The team of nine had little resources and a lot of strife to contend with.

The team simply abandoned the shot-up U.S. B-17E bomber. For six weeks, they trekked through the jungle. They battle malaria and heatstroke.

Meanwhile, the “swamp ghost” ship stayed put for decades. At least until Tallichet used his money to find it. Check out the video below to see more pictures of his incredible discovery.

When Tallichet and his team found it, they quickly called in an airlift and resurrected the “swamp ghost.” They broke a wing, but eventually got it out of the jungle. Now the bomber is officially retired.

A White Lion And White Tiger Just Had A Baby And It’s Taking The Internet By Storm

What happened when a white lion and a white tiger had babies together? The internet lost its collective mind, as photos of the wild cat hybrid cubs (called Ligers, of course) was about the cutest thing to ever land online. Back in 2014, the world’s first white tigers were born and they were the most adorable — and rarest — big cats in existence.

At the time that Yeti, Odlin, Sampson, and Apolo were born, in 2013, they were the first of their kind: born from a white male lion, Ivory, and a white female tiger, Saraswati. In 2014, there were around 300 white lions and 1,200 white tigers left in the world, so their parents were already fairly rare.

Then came these sweet lion-tiger cubs, with only about 1,000 ligers in the world, most of which live in captivity. The family of ligers and their parents live at the T.I.G.E.R. Sanctuary in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The sanctuary has successfully bred ligers before, including Hercules, which the Guinness Book of World Records listed as the biggest cat in the world, coming in at 922 pounds.

The safari’s director and founder of the T.I.G.E.R Sanctuary, Doc Antle, told the Daily Mail about how quickly the cubs were growing, noting: “I skip a day seeing them and it looks like they’ve doubled in size. It’s like someone’s blowing them up with a tire pump.”

The cubs had enjoyed swimming and were sociable, with the smallest, Apollo, acting most like a house cat, enjoying the handlers petting him. The largest of the litter, Yeti, by comparison, was more energetic and liked to be the center of attention.

According to the Myrtle Beach Safari website, Doc Antle believes that Yeti will reach the size of his Uncle Hercules, noting: “I am convinced Yeti will make the Guinness Book of Records. He’s so big already – has such a big, fat head and paws. All the cubs grow so quickly but Yeti is already so much bigger.”

Further, Doc Antle explained that the ligers created quite a buzz, saying: “We’ve had everyone from congressmen to people from all walks of life get on planes to fly in to see such an incredibly unique … they have such a beautiful creamy color that I have never seen on a cat before.”

According to Ligerworld.com: “White ligers are not as much white as their parents but rather they have an off-white creamish color. Their fur color is slightly paler than the normal ligers.”

The Myrtle Beach Safari website notes that their “experience is a fully-guided walking tour which is completely interactive and lasts approximately 3 hours” and visitors can meet Hercules. The site explains that as part of a safari package, “you will be privy to a rare sighting while on tour, as there are believed to be only a handful of ligers worldwide.”

Among the comments on a video about the ligers are those who question whether this type of breeding is responsible, with one concerned commenter saying: “Crossbreeding two animals who’d probably kill each other in the wild, for monetary gain. They clearly don’t care about these poor animals and the genetic defects they suffer. Not to mention, they can’t breed. It’s not fair!”

Hidden Camera Catches What Happens When This Officer Approaches A Weary Homeless Man

Police officers are charged with keeping Americans safe and sound. Our communities safety is their number one priority, no matter what else is going on. But too often police officers end up in situations far out of their control and they lose the fundamental sense of duty that is so important. Mesa, Arizona officer Kent Green hasn’t forgotten that sense of duty, not one bit.

He recently spotted a tired, thinning man searching through the trash – presumably looking for something to eat. Kent knew he needed to help this man at a time when so many others would have kept walking.

“We had some deaths from people either falling asleep or camping out in a dumpster, or behind, and then a garbage vehicle comes out and it can end really badly,” he told Runner’s World.

Green, is a runner himself and he noticed the man’s raggedy and hole-filled sneakers. They weren’t in good shape at all and Green had a few pairs lying around his car that he knew he didn’t need.

He grabbed a few pairs, got out of his car and headed over to hand the man some sneakers to warm up his feet. He was doing a kind deed for a resident of the neighborhood without expecting anything in return.

But he didn’t know that Jenny Crider, a local resident was filming his entire good deed on camera! Police officers and cameras have had a bad relationship at times, but this time he couldn’t have been happier.

Good deeds often inspire others to do the same, and Crider managed to share Officer Green’s amazing generosity first-hand. She then shared it online where it went viral and caught the attention of many media outlets.

“This man comes by our complex a few times a week collecting cans to earn money from recycling them. When I went to grab our mail, a police officer drove up and got out to talk to him. I honestly thought he was going to ask him to leave and stop going through the trash,” she wrote in a post.

“When I came back home from getting the mail, the officer had brought out a nice, new pair of shoes to give to the man. It’s the simple, Christlike acts like this that give me hope in this world. Thank you Mesa Police for having such wonderful officers patrol the area!”

Green had no idea anyone saw him until the next day. His friends and family started calling him off the hook and he was totally blown away by all of the attention.

“I had no idea about that until I started getting text messages and messages from dispatch in the days after,” he said in an interview with AZ Family. “We don’t do this, for gratification. We’re not looking for the recognition… We’re looking to do the right thing – the human thing.”

Green also said that he isn’t the only generous officer in the Mesa department. Other officers also donate items like clothing, hygienic products and food for those who need help. Do you feel that the police officers in your community would have your back in a time of need?

Bob Barker Has Had Thousands Of Contestants, But Everyone Agrees Michael Is The Best

If you’re a fan of game shows, then The Price Is Right is probably one of your favorites. The show has been on the air for decades and has invited thousands of people onto the stage from its audience to play for cash money. Before Drew Carey took his dream job of hosting the show, it was Bob Barker’s program. People loved Bob Barker on the show for his quick wit and personable demeanor.

Barker was ubiquitous with the show for years. After he retired from the program, the adage rang true – “the show must go on,” and Drew Carey picked up the torch.

However, we have a great clip for you from the good old days of The Price Is Right with Bob Barker. In the six-minute clip, you’ll get to see contestant Michael as he gets people laughing and proves to be one of the most entertaining contestants to ever appear on the game show.

As the video uploader SIKE writes, “Michael is probably the funniest contestant I’ve ever seen go on the show so far.”

The reason that this man stood out from the remaining batch of contestants, according to viewers on YouTube, is that he likely has autism or Asperger’s syndrome. While it is possible he is on the spectrum of autism, Michael is still able to play the game and do very well at it too.

Viewers who related with Michael indicated how “this makes me proud to be an Aspie! Weaponized autism. Deploy!”

“He has Asperger’s. He’s socially awkward, takes the sarcastic jokes literally, watches the show every day and memorizes the brands and prices of everything. It paid off.”

Another writes, “Autism is a superpower.”

“As a man with high-functioning autism, I commend this man.”

“I spotted that also. I freaking love Michael! He’s very special. Super brilliant, huh?”

Other people contributed more comments that showed how much they adored Michael from the video.

“This dude booked a two-day flight just to go win the Price Is Right and then go home. Man of the century.”

In response, a viewer wrote, “I would love to see a film about this. This five-minute win then an hour twenty of him taking it all home and spending the money in the way dumb and dumber style! Or even about the journey out there and getting on the show with the big win at the end.”

Another viewer commended Bob Barker for his causal attitude rather than being annoyed with the contestant.

“I love how Bob just rolls with him and is appreciative of him rather than acting annoyed.”

As you watch Michael play the game, what thoughts run through your head?

Michael later told Statesville Record & Landmark that being on the show was the best day of his life.

“I was just shocked. I couldn’t believe it,” Michael said about being selected.

But he admitted that he had an intuition that he would make it, “I didn’t fly 2,500 miles to get a consolation prize.”

Michael was a life-long fan of the show. And the way he played the game proved that.

The Vet Was Confused When He Found This Pitbull Outside His Office. Then He Read The Note

Desperate times call for desperate measures and in the case of one dog owner, she felt like she only had one choice — to abandon her beloved pet and hope someone would give him a loving home. So, the owner left her adorable pitbull outside of the Litchfield Hills Veterinary Animal Hospital under a tree, in a crate with all of his belongings and toys.

She also left a note, explaining the circumstances surrounding this decision and why she felt this was the only option. The note read: “My name is Fatty McFat. I am aggressive only because I’m scared. My owner loves me very much, I am their life! My human went homeless and found out they have a disease and cannot care for me. Please don’t judge them.”

The note continued: “They tried to rehome me on many documented attempts. No one cared! Attempted the vet, they did not care! Call police, dog warden, did not care. I know my human loves because they were and are the only one who gave every attempt to save me, love me, and pamper me.”

The owner continued to explain how painful this decision was to make, writing: “It is not fair for me to live in a car which I have been for 2 months and my human cries everyday that they are sorry and love me.”

Further, the note explained: “I am very, very overly protective of my human and will bite anyone who comes near them or I feel is a threat. My human went homeless due to my biting. All my human wants is for me to have a chance to be treated with care, dignity and love no matter the outcome. My human is heartbroken and very sad it has come to this. No one would help.”

There is a happy ending for the dog, thankfully, as Fatty was handed over to The Simon Foundation, who took the dog until the owner could bring him home. The foundation explained on Facebook: “It’s sad when someone has to make this choice. At The Simon Foundation, he’ll receive any needed medical care including neutering and vaccines, and behavior interaction with our trainer to help him become more secure in his new surroundings.”

The foundation later explained that Fatty and her owner finally had a happy reunion, writing on Facebook: “Fatty came to The Simon Foundation, Inc. and stayed with us for several weeks. He started out very fearful, and lets face it… grumpy! With patience and gentle encouragement, Fatty was soon showing off his skills, of sit, down, and paw. He became comfortable and calmed down. During this time, his Mom was able to find a new job, a new home and always stayed in touch with us to check on her buddy. With everything in place, Fatty was reunited with his Mom, which was a joyful experience, and he set off on a fresh start in a new home, and a new state. Thank you to all that offered words of encouragement, and donations to help with Fatty. We were able to give a check to help with his medical costs when he left. We wish them well.”

He Told His Parents To Put A Blindfold On Before Showing Them His Gift For Years Of Hard Work

If your kid came and told you he was going to become a Youtuber a few years ago, you’d probably roll your eyes. If they did it a few years before that, you’d be really confused because Youtube didn’t exist. But these days, some Youtubers are making a pretty decent living for themselves and it’s a totally different world. One Youtuber was able to pay his family back for their support – and then some!

LeJuan James has been on Youtube since Aug 12, 2013. In the years since he has amassed a fairly large audience of 143,000 subscribers. He’s also branched out into other social media platforms and is clearly making a decent living for himself.

Once he started making some real money with his Youtube antics, LeJuan decided to pay it forward to his parents for raising him and supporting him all of those years. So he started putting some money away and talking to real estate agents.

His plan was to buy his parents a house and then surprise them with it. But he knew how picky his parents are, so he wanted to make sure it was the perfect place.

It took months of searching but finally, LeJuan was able to buy a perfectly-sized house for his parents with the money he put aside. Not too many people can say Youtube fame has allowed them to be this kind and generous!

His parents were going through some financial hardship at the time, as his grandmother became sick with brain cancer. The family struggled to afford her treatments, like so many others dealing with the same issue. For some reason, in America we have decided that it’s okay to bankrupt families just to treat cancer and stay alive and it doesn’t seem like that is going to change any time soon.

“You don’t really understand until you’re a little older, then you understand the concept of money and how hard it is to get it and how easy it is to spend it,” LeJuan said in an interview with E! News. “I remember that at the end of the year in 2016, one of my new year resolutions was to do that for them.”

Regardless, LeJuan knew that they needed some help and he had the means to help them. So he came up with this brilliant surprise and the rest is history!

Soon, the big day was coming up and LeJuan was working overtime to ensure that the place was perfect for his parents. They had no idea this was going on and he somehow managed to keep the secret right up until the blindfolds came off!

The house is beautiful and his parents were absolutely stunned with the big reveal! Happy tears were falling down their faces as LeJuan finally gave them his big surprise.

“I want to thank you guys for allowing me to do this for them,” he told his fans in an emotional reveal video. “This means the world to me. They deserve it. They’re great parents and God is good, yo. God is good – always. I love you guys.”

He dedicated the video to the memory of Carlita Ortiz, his grandmother. You can see it below and share if this story touched your heart as well.

Instead Of Earning Millions In Hollywood, He Has Saved Over 6000 Young Girls’ Lives

Ashton Kutcher may have stepped back from the Hollywood spotlight for a bit, but he’s making a huge comeback… as a humanitarian, among other things. Some famous folks use their celebrity status and visibility to bring light to issues that need attention and, in this case, Ashton has really done something amazing. Ashton has a successful acting career, as well as being an investor in successful companies, like Airbnb, Spotify and Uber.

It’s his involvement in the anti-human trafficking effort that should get all of the attention, however.

In this 2016 interview, Ashton talked to the Today show about his Netflix series The Ranch, but there was also discussion of the organization he founded with his ex-wife Demi Moore in 2008.

The organization, called Thorn, has the following goal: “to build technology to defend children from sexual abuse.” In 2015, Thorn reported that 75 percent of child sex trafficking survivors surveyed noted they were eventually “sold” online.

Asia, a survivor who talked to Thorn during a 2015 study, explained: “People are posted and sold online multiple times a day. As far as the ad that was posted up [for me], there was a girl who eerily looked like me… just [like] you can go find a car, there was a picture, and a description, and a price.”

Ashton explained: “Basically, the purchase and commerce for human trafficking is happening online, just like everything else now, and so we’re building digital tools to fight back against it.”

Armed with this information, Ashton noted that Thorn “built a tool to help law enforcement prioritize their caseload and recover victims and find traffickers.” He added: “And we’ve found and identified and recovered over 6,000 trafficking victims this year. And we’ve found, identified, and recovered 2,000 traffickers.”

The organization’s website explains:

“We partner across the tech industry, government and NGOs and leverage technology to combat predatory behavior, rescue victims, and protect vulnerable children.

The site also lists 20 members of what it calls The Thorn Technology Task Force, comprised of technology companies that lend their knowledge, time and resources to the work that we do.

Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Adobe are listed among the names who are helping Thorn’s cause.”

The organization’s work doesn’t end, however, as Ashton noted: “Our next battle, my next commitment… I’m going to make a pledge that I’m going to eliminate child pornography from the internet.”

Kutcher testified in front of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in February 2017, where he gave a speech about modern day slavery, saying, in part:

“I’m here today to defend the right to pursue happiness. It’s a simple notion: ‘the right to pursue happiness.’ It’s bestowed upon all of us by our constitution. Every citizen of this country has the right to pursue it. And I believe that it is incumbent on us as citizens of this nation, as Americans, to bestow that right upon others, upon each other, and upon the rest of the world. But the right to pursue happiness for so many is stripped away — it’s raped, it’s abused, it’s taken by force, fraud, or coercion. It is sold for the momentary happiness of another.”

These 5 Navy Men Took The Stage, And The Crowd Exploded As Soon As They Looked Up

Navy service members have a reputation for being tough as rocks. And they need to be resilient people because they are out on the open ocean for long stretches of time. Although Navy service members are often seen as tough and stern, they’re not like that every moment of every day. And every once in a while, they find a few moments to enjoy themselves and have some fun.

But the U.S. Navy Band seems always to be having some fun.

They are the Navy’s dedicated band after all and what could be more fun than playing music to honor the United States military and the people who join and risk their lives to protect American freedom and democracy? So when you see the Navy’s band, the “Sea Chanters” performing before the crowd, a smile will grace your lips. But when you see how talented they are, your jaw will drop. Especially when you recognize the song, they’re about to sing.

The video starts with five uniformed Navy men standing at the front of the stage all bowed forward at the waist.

And as soon as they pop up, the crowd goes wild because they’re singing a favorite song from the hit musical “Jersey Boys.”

According to the Sea Chanters’ website, “The ensemble performs a variety of music ranging from traditional choral music, including sea chanteys and patriotic fare, to opera, Broadway, and contemporary music. Under the leadership of Senior Chief Musician Adam Tyler, the Sea Chanters perform for the public throughout the United States. At home in Washington, they perform for the president, vice president and numerous congressional, military and foreign dignitaries.”

Lt. Harold Fultz was the visionary and music lover who formed the group back in 1956. He recruited the singers for the group from the Navy School of Music. He wanted a group dedicated to singing patriotic songs and chanteys to inspire the members of the government at the State of the Nation dinner.

Later, when the group became a hit, they expanded and began singing more songs than just patriotic verses. And as you’ll see in the performance below, show tunes are some of the most popular songs they perform while out touring the country.

“Throughout their history, the Sea Chanters have remained true to the Navy’s watchwords of pride and professionalism, and they continue to flourish as a vibrant ensemble,” their website added.

The Sea Chanters are not the only Navy music group. They also have other ensembles including Chamber Ensembles, Cruisers, Country Current, Commodores, Ceremonial Band, and the Concert Band. Talk about a division of the military that respects and celebrates with music!

The performance below comes from 2014. It has proved to have lasting popularity. And it occurred during the Concerts on the Avenue series that was hosted at the United States Navy Memorial.

If you’re a patriotic American and a fan of Jersey Boys, this Sea Chanters performance will know your socks off. Press play below to check it out today! to watch the talented service members.

Young Boy Goes Missing On Hike. When They Find Him, He Tells The Truth About His Father.

A young boy who was lost in the Utah wilderness remarkably survived. And he did it with some basic survival skills his father had taught him. Had Malachi Bradley not been armed with this knowledge, he likely wouldn’t have made it out of the frightening ordeal alive. 10-year-old Malachi was hiking with his family in Utah when he wandered off to find some wild mushrooms to cook with the fish he had caught.

He ended up lost in the High Uintas Wilderness of Utah, an area that can be challenging even for those with wilderness survival experience.

His parents were understandably worried about their son, but 30 hours after his disappearance, Malachi was found safe.

The boy’s ability to survive the harrowing experience is impressive, with his aunt further explaining that a week before he went on the trip, the boy and his friends played a game called “What would we do if we got lost?” That exercise in worst case scenarios no doubt was critical in saving Malachi’s life.

He told reporters: “It was weird not having anybody with me, but I just kept going. I knew I had to make it back, or my family would be really sad,” explaining that he “went way too far” when he wandered off.

Malachi attempted to find a road so that he could flag someone down, but was unsuccessful. He drank water from the river using a technique his dad had taught him to filter it, and attempted to spear a fish, with no success.

Malachi further explained how he survived the cold overnight temperatures, saying: “There’s just a ton of giant rocks, so I hid between four of them so the wind wouldn’t hit me too much.” He found that the rocks provided warmth for his body after they had been exposed to the sun during the day.

Malachi’s mother shared her worry about her missing son, saying: “I felt like the forest was so huge. They were showing pictures on a map of how many people they had on the ground, and it felt like it was a tiny amount compared to the vast place that was the forest.”

His dad added: “I was just hoping he was able to stay warm enough.”

Malachi heard the search and rescue helicopters the next day and managed to get to a clearing so he could be found. He was soon discovered, five miles southeast from where he went missing.

His mother said after his rescue: “He’s healthy and he’s coming up and this is going to be all over and it’s not a tragedy.” The medical staff at the scene said the boy was healthy, albeit cold and hungry.

With only a few scrapes and bruises, Malachi returned home and arrived to a celebratory welcome at his school, where kids cheered for him and chanted his name. Malachi’s mom said of his survival story: “I was not going to have to bury my baby. I was so happy to have my baby back. That was a good day.”
