WASHINGTON (AP) — Employers boosted hiring in 13 U.S. states in January while employment changed little in 36 states. The Labor Department says Alaska is the only state to show a significant decline in jobs, shedding 2,100. Nationwide, hiring picked up in January as employers added 238,000 jobs, a clear improvement over last year’s average […]

Will showering with your kid scar them for life?

By  FoxNews.com

Maybe you started to shower with your toddler because it’s easier to tote them in with you versus suds them up solo later. Or they suddenly decided they hate baths. Perhaps, culturally, it’s the norm in your family. Or it’s just your specific parenting style.

Showering with your kiddo isn’t wrong or right — it’s a decision to make based on what’s best for your family.

That said, if you’re struggling to make this decision, there are a few factors to consider first.

He Did Over 1,200 Abortions But Quit, Here’s His Tip for Encouraging Others to be Pro-Life Too

Dr Anthony Levatino is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who performed abortions for eight years before he stopped in 1985. He went on to become a powerful pro-life witness to the truth about abortion and will be speaking at our youth conference in March about his journey from abortionist to pro-life campaigner. I had the chance to chat with Dr Levatino over the phone about his early days as a doctor who performed abortions.

I started performing abortions in 1977 but never counted the number. It was about 1200. Abortion is such a divisive issue and people are either pro-life or pro-choice but for most people it doesn’t affect their lives. If you’re an obstetrician it becomes personal because we perform them. It is easy to say how much you believe in abortion, it is different actually doing them. When I was a medical student I could say, “I’m pro-choice, it’s between a woman and her doctor.” It’s different when you do them.

Stop eating gummy vitamins like they’re candy

I can’t believe items that are pure sugar or corn syrup could be bad for you?  I occasionally use them but I have stockach issues.  I need to get what nutrition I can when that happens.  I just wish they made a sugar free version.

At what point does the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down become counterproductive?

The vitamin and mineral supplement market is thriving. In 2014, people worldwide spent close to $37 billionon them; by 2020, that number is expected to be closer to $39 billion, even though many doctors that have questioned their efficacy.

Taking vitamins is like having a nutritional “safety net,” according to Katherine Zeratsky, a registered dietician with the Mayo Clinic. Although most people can get all their nutritional needs through their regular diets, multivitamins serve as a guarantee that all your bases are covered.

FBI investigating more than 300 refugees for terror activities, Sessions says

If we would have followed the laws already in effect years ago we wouldn’t be in this position.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating more than 300 people who came to the U.S. as refugees for potential terrorism-related activities, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said Monday, as the Trump administration unveiled a revised ban on travel from six Muslim-majority countries.

The new ban is due to take effect on March 16, and will bar people from the six nations for 90 days. The countries are Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Iraqi citizens were taken off the list after Iraq agreed to cooperate more closely with the U.S. in vetting Iraqi nationals.

How Geena Davis is fighting for women in popular culture

What she fighting for: better representation of women in media is great. But the idea that boys become more sexists as they watch male oriented media is ridiculous. Its not the amount of the media, it’s the quality of the media. You eat garbage, you turn to garbage. Its up to a parent to decide what their children watch and does not watch. Which ultimately decides what the kid will become. The same holds true for adults. What you was watch you will become.

You need to change the hearts of the people consuming the media. What they pick to view is what Hollywood produces.

BTW: Geena, you still look great. That not sexist. That’s a compliment.

‘We judge our value by popular culture’: How Geena Davis is fighting back for women

By Tracey Holmes

The Oscar-winning actress accuses Hollywood of exporting a “not-very-good image of women”, and is working behind the scenes to bring gender balance to American films and TV shows.
